"My name is Nicholas Howe; I work in testing and we are Hawaii Health & Harm Reduction Center. Hawaii Health & Harm Reduction Center is a non-profit focusing on harm reduction in various pillars of our communities; especially with queer people and native Hawaiians. We provide things like HIV testing, STI panels, prep coordination, syringe exchange, transgender services, smoking sessation, houseless outreach, and the list goes on. We are a partner with Hawaii Food Bank; which is providing all the wonderful food for the students of university of Hawaii today."

Alpha Gamma Delta Members (ΑΔΓ)

Melina Smoker, Vice President of Recruitment

Melina Smoker, a sophomore majoring in general education, is the vice president of recruitment in an organization called Alpha Gamma Delta. "My role is to plan and to execute recruiting events and encourage new memberships from girls that just got to UH Manoa or transfer students who are looking for a way to get involved on campus," Melina said. In Melina's experience as a member, she has made contributions for the philanthropy of fighting hunger. In this philanthropy, the members work with the local food banks and with their interactional organization to fund raise and support the community as best as they can. "We are the largest woman's fraternity here at UH Manoa," Melina said. "We have over 200,000 members worldwide across the U.S. and Canada. It's amazing to see girls that are the same age as you are doing and empowering within their community and their college career."

Kayla Mamayek, Vice President of Member Experience

Kayla Mamayek, a freshman majoring in marine biology, is the vice president of member experience in an organization called Alpha Gamma Delta. Kayla's role as the vice president of member experience is to promote membership retention, this associates with the value the members attribute to the organization and how they feel about it. "I never thought I'd be the girl who would be in a sorority," Kayla said. "I definitely don't look like it or act like it, I feel like. But I've met a bunch of really good friends. I feel like I have a lot of opportunities to contribute to the community, to the campus, and also meet new people. It's giving me a lot of leadership experience. Just a lot of good qualities I might not have had before."

Ani Wilcox, Director of Ritual

Ani Wilcox, a student in UH Manoa, is the director of ritual in an organization called Alpha Gamma Delta. Ani's role as the director of ritual is associated with the way each member express their beliefs and values for what they participate in. "My favorite thing about this club is everyone really loves my dog, and so I'm allowed to bring her everywhere to basically every event," Ani said. "That's a really fun thing that I don't have to choose between my dog or my club." In Ani's experience, she describes this organization as a "nice way to meet impactful and inspiring women who make you feel really comfortable."

Sylvia Amoruso, Vice President of Campus Relations

Sylvia Amoruso, a student double majoring in psychology and German, is the vice president of campus relations in an organization called Alpha Gamma Delta. Sylvia's role as the vice president of campus relations is to "do a lot of out reach around campus and talk to other organization," and that this is a "great opportunity to meet new people both within and without Alpha Gamma Delta." Her favorite thing about being a member in Alpha Gamma Delta is the leadership opportunities. In Sylvia's experience as member, she has made many great bonds and contributions for their philanthropy.
